This Cookie Policy describes the types of cookies and similar technologies used by the website https://www.qualityandsafety.org (hereinafter, the "Site"), the purposes of their use and the ways in which the user can manage their installation or deactivation.
For general information on the processing of personal data, please refer to the privacy notice.

2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the websites visited send to the user's browser, where they are stored to then be retransmitted to the same sites on subsequent visits. They may be installed by the Site (first-party cookies) or by different domains (third-party cookies).
The Site may also use similar technologies, such as local storage, tracking pixels and online identifiers generated by third-party scripts, for technical or audience measurement purposes.
3. Types of cookies used
3.1 Technical cookies (necessary)
The Site uses cookies and technologies strictly necessary for the correct functioning of the pages, for security and for the delivery of the service requested by the user. Such cookies do not require consent pursuant to art. 122 of the Privacy Code and the Guidelines of the Garante, as they are indispensable for navigation or for activities strictly connected to the delivery of the service.
This category includes, by way of example, session cookies, cookies for load balancing on the CDN and cookies set by Google Tag Manager to store consent preferences or the activation status of tags, where configured.
3.2 Analytics and measurement cookies
The Site uses Google Tag Manager (container GTM-K69DN9S4) to manage
scripts for measuring traffic and use of the Site. Through GTM, statistical services may be
activated — typically Google Analytics — which collect aggregated information about
the audience, the pages visited, the duration of the session, the type of device and the interactions
with the content.
Analytics cookies have statistical purposes and aim to improve the Site. No profiling or advertising remarketing cookies are used.
The main analytics cookies that may be installed through GTM are:
- _ga — unique user identifier for aggregated statistics. Duration: up to 24 months. Provider: Google Ireland Limited.
- _ga_* — maintains the state of the measurement session. Duration: up to 24 months. Provider: Google Ireland Limited.
- _gid — distinguishes users in the 24 hours following the visit. Duration: 24 hours. Provider: Google Ireland Limited.
The list may vary depending on the configuration of the GTM container. For up-to-date information on the cookies set by Google: policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
3.3 Embedded third-party cookies and technologies
Some pages of the Site embed third-party content or services that may install their own cookies or process browsing data:
- Google Fonts — loading of typographic fonts from Google's servers. The loading may entail the processing of the IP address and technical data of the browser.
- Google Maps — the Contacts page embeds an interactive map that may install Google
cookies (for example
NID,CONSENT) when the iframe is loaded.
Such services are provided by Google Ireland Limited and may entail transfers of data to countries outside the EEA, as described in the privacy notice.
4. Legal basis and purposes
- Technical cookies — legitimate interest of the Controller and/or performance of pre-contractual measures (art. 6.1 lett. f and b GDPR); for strictly necessary cookies, consent is not required pursuant to art. 122 Privacy Code.
- Analytics cookies — consent of the data subject (art. 6.1 lett. a GDPR). Such cookies are activated only after explicit acceptance through the cookie banner or the selection of the relevant category in the preferences.
5. Cookie banner and preference management
On first access to the Site, a banner is shown allowing the user to accept all cookies, reject non-necessary ones or customise preferences by category. The choices are stored in the user's browser and can be changed at any time through the "Manage cookies" link in the Site footer.
The Site uses Google Consent Mode v2: analytics cookies remain disabled until consent is given and are activated only in the event of explicit acceptance.
6. How to manage cookies from the browser
The user can manage cookie preferences at any time through the settings of their browser. Below are the links to the instructions of the most common browsers:
Disabling technical cookies may impair navigation or the use of certain features of the Site. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect the use of the content.
To specifically prevent the collection of data by Google Analytics, it is possible to install the browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
7. Changes
The Controller reserves the right to update this Cookie Policy at any time, including as a consequence of changes to the configuration of Google Tag Manager or the introduction of new services. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with an indication of the date of last update.
